The last two days of headlines have foreshadowed the G20 summit leader’s intent to create greater intolerance of Iran and its people. Sunday’s Globe and Mail headline reads “Nuclear Ambition Unite Leaders Against Iran”.

What We need to remember is that it is the Iranian people who suffer from greater sanctions and that inhumane treatment of people is unacceptable under any circumstance. If the Iranian leader is corrupt and oppressive, is that any reason to make the Iranian people suffer? A bad situation becomes even worse for the Iranian people and just as Our leaders are attempting to convince Us that Iran is the great enemy, Iran’s leader will rally against the U.N., convince Iranians that all the poverty and suffering is the result of the U.N. refusing to allow Iran to experience its own freedom and create its own wealth. The more We oppress people, the more hatred We breed.
“We are committed to demonstrating that international law is not an empty promise, that obligations must be kept and that treaties will be enforced,” Mr. Obama said. – Globe and Mail
I am not trying to suggest that Iran is ‘in the right’ here. What I am suggesting is that We don’t know what Iran’s intentions are any more than We know what Our own leaders intentions are. What I do know is that if the wealthy countries used their wealth to help develop and support less prosperous countries, the road to peace would be paved much faster. When We realize We are all one family, one being, We will choose to stop destroying Ourselves.
