Hello every One and welcome to the Thoroughly Thrilling Thing King Edition, thank King You for being here. It is an ESPecially Thrilling Thursday Edition because this April Fool started a new thirty day challenge this month. April ‘just happens’ to have exactly thirty days so I figured the April Fool should start on April Fool’s and it turns out I was not fooling My Self as the Deed is already done. Instead I feel as if I were Full-ing My Self, fulfilling a Purpose.
Today I have been thing King more about what this April Fool Will be tall King and Writing about over the next little while, and One of those things Will be Self improvement. Some People who have known Me over the years think I have exceptional genetics and there is some Truth to that with respect to My metabolism but otherwise I sincerely believe I was Gifted with reasonably ‘average’, ‘common’ genetics – at least physically. I think part of the reason some People do believe this is because they don’t know how hard I work to maintain My physical health. I’m also guilty of all of the mistakes common People make when trying to maintain their health with a workout program – I always feel great when I start, get to a point where I can see great results, then stop for some random reason which I consciously know to be a lame excuse My ego likely made up because it didn’t feel like war King out one day.
That wasn’t the case for Me last time, after fifty-seven consecutive days I quit because a bursitis injury in My left elbow I’d had for two weeks did not seem to be disappearing. So that wasn’t ego, that was a conscious decision that maybe letting it rest for two weeks would do the trick. My previous philosophy was that continuing to work out (because there was no pain, just an unsightly, golf ball sized bump on My elbow that felt weird) would be better for circulation and oxygenating the area to clear it out. So after two weeks of continuing to work out with no result, I decided to take a break until it was healed.
Two weeks later My elbow was fine. But it healed kind of like a head-ache just sort of disappears. You don’t really notice it going away, You just notice its gone. I noticed two days after I stopped working out that it was substantially smaller and I figured I’d wait till it was completely gone. I don’t remember when that was but it was within two weeks (which was how long I’d planned to rest), and I didn’t start My workout routine again.
So on one Hand, I’m telling You this because I think it’s perfectly normal to screw up and unless One is actually a professional athlete who’s Livelihood depends on fitness, it’s not a big deal. Just to commit to getting back to it. That’s basically what I do and the limit is a year. The goal is to Keep it up for longer than whatever I managed the previous year with the eventual goal of it being as much a part of One’s day as breakfast.
The fact that I do get back to it every year, even if it is just for two weeks or a few months, really does help to Keep the overall body in shape because muscles have memory. Every time One returns to it, it Will be slightly easier than the first workout ever. And to compound that benefit, One typically gets results much faster, too. The body gets to know, “Oh… I see. So We’re doing this again, are We? How long this time?”
The body Will get One back to where it was before that much faster if its been there before. Last year I went from 29 pushups on My first workout to over 100 per workout before the end of thirty days. This year, I started with five sets of five to warm back into the routine for a total of 25. The ‘system’ is to increase sets by five reps every time I can do five sets consecutive reps. So the next goal is 10 per set for a total of 50 pushups next workout. I allow for two days rest, tomorrow will be chins. Using a workout Log is a Good Idea, too. It is rewarding to see One’s progress.
It would not be a proper April Fool’s if this April Fool did not say something about what it means to be an April Fool.

“The really important feature of this card is that its number should be 0. It represents therefore the Negative above the Tree of Life, the source of all things. It is the Qabalistic Zero. It is the equation of the Universe, the initial and final balance of the opposites; Air, in this card, therefore quintessentially means a vacuum.”
Aleister Crowley, The Book of Thoth
I found this interesting because I Write in My Book about how Nothing is the source of all things. People are looking for the ‘source’ of the ‘Big Bang’ and they Will never find it because they are looking for something and missing the Nothing that’s right in front of them.
This Post is already longer than I had intended but My hope is to encourage You to take a thirty day challenge and it doesn’t matter what it is. For Me, fitness is always something I know I would like to make part of My daily routine so that’s what I’m focusing on first. The other thing I Wish to stress is to not be too hard on Your Self if You miss a day or more. Just make a promise to start again and Keep it, try to improve on what was accomplished before.
The final point I Wish to make is that the Fool eventually becomes the Mage. The Fool has to make mistakes and not accomplish things to figure everything out. But the Fool is not afraid to make a mistake; it is only unfortunate if One does not learn from it. So I use Lists when I make a commitment. It’s easy to ignore an Idea I had about working out but to see it Writ on paper and not follow through – that makes Me accountable to something tangible in the Universe and it also offers something of a reward that feels Good when it’s done.
I had a ‘Deed List’ to accompany My first workout because I know how important diet is. So I made sure I Will have a healthy, appropriate meal ready to consume with the perfect window of repair (about forty five minutes to one hour after completion). I also have an awesome stuffed baked potato recipe but I’ll save that for another day.

Now I only have reading, Duolingo and painting left!
Love and Blessings,
