Hello every One and welcome to the Thoroughly Thrilling Thing King Edition, thank Your Royal, Moral Highness for being here, it is always great to have You.
As excited as I am and have been about My new home on the internet and the new Company I Will be Keeping with The Kingdom of Heaven Trust, I very much missed this little niche. I know it’s only what We call virtual space, not ‘Real’ property, but it feels exactly the same as abandoning a House One has Lived in for years. Even if One leaves for the proverbial greener pastures, there is nostalgia leaving all of those old memories behind.
I’ve discovered a lot about moving and internet property in general. I learned that I Love the developers of WordPress more than ever! I’ve been saying for a long time that I really like using WordPress and I always felt like they respect and Value the content I am publishing. Today’s screenshot is to Show You what would happen if I just gave up the domain ‘vondehnvisuals’ entirely. My entire website ‘vondehnvisuals’ would just automatically revert back to the free domain ‘wordpress.com/vondehnvisuals’, as pristine and perfect as it was. The only content I risk losing is everything I create after leaving WordPress dot com.
The other thing I find very interesting about it, is that the free, Immaculate backup of My website doesn’t exist at all if I move! If I move, I have to tell the name servers where My new address is. So even though My Blog and website hasn’t disappeared from the internet for even a second, it Will have appeared to have done so for some of My readers (sorry about that). That Will seem obvious to any tech People out there. For Me it was tricky because I’m the real owner of all that content, so I can always see it!
There is a punchline here, Trust Me!
What made all of this most confusing for Me, is that no One else can see My old website. I set up a browser without any permission to store cookies so that I can view My (old) website as any One else would (WordPress would just automatically log Me in and I can see all My stats like usual), and I get an error message telling Me the domain has moved. So what, right? That’s exactly what I should see and what every One else should see, too. However, My WordPress dot com stats Show that plenty of People were continuing to view My old website and download documents – I have visitors today, in fact!
Right now, My hosting is with DreamHosters which means that both technically and legally, WordPress dot com doesn’t have any permission to publish any content from vondehnvisuals! Only if I Give up My domain or transfer the domain Registration back to WordPress can they publish My content. But even stranger still, no One looking for ‘vondehnvisuals’ would find Me at WordPress dot com because the name servers have been changed for some time. So the internet won’t even look for files there anymore. So how and why are People still able to view My old, subdomain website at WordPress dot com?
Also, please don’t confuse WordPress dot com with WordPress. That’s why I keep distinguishing. One is a webhosting company that uses the WordPress content management system as its primary developing tool for Creators, WordPress dot org are the open source developers continually war King to improve the platform and keep it FREE for Creators like Me. They’re like Anonymous for website developers and content creators.
Anyway, the point to this post was to let You know some of the extra things One may Wish to be thing King about before starting a website. WordPress dot com is awesome if One is absolutely sure they won’t ever Wish to move. Considering their most ‘VIP’ plan is a modest $25k/year, I presume they have sufficient services available to accommodate growing enterprises.
My only complaint with WordPress dot com is that it’s Fabulous – but in a Hotel California kind of Way. One can check out any time One Wishes, but they can’t ever leave…
The whole point to obtaining new internet property was to Keep the new venture completely separate form this website. This really is just a Rogue Journalist’s perspective on the world – the Gospel according to Sean, if One Wishes.
So there is a Good chance I Will move vondehnvisuals back to WordPress dot com and just maintain the free account with the paid domain because I really don’t need any of the additional development tools that are available for this site. Most of the additional plugins that I require are for safety and security because I Will be receiving payments for the new Company.
In the meantime, this Will be where I continue to journal and tell You how I Will be dealing with some of Canada’s most corrupt State Actors war King in the City of Ottawa. The new site Will be tall King about wealth management and Estate administration for Trustees and Executors Wishing to develop a private, Living Trust to secure their family’s Value.
