A Gift Beyond the Flames
It’s not the ink upon your skin,
Nor the rings that mark your face.
It’s not the smoke that fills your lungs,
Nor moments you’d erase.
It’s not the prison walls you faced,
Or deeds you left undone.
It’s not the votes you cast in vain,
Nor battles never won.
The flames won’t burn for what you’ve done,
Or for secrets that you keep.
They won’t ignite from what was lost,
Or paths you failed to reap.
It’s not the weight of shattered pasts,
Or scars that make you fall.
The choice lies not in acts alone,
But in one name to call.
For Christ has paid the debt in full,
He bore the cross for you.
He rose again to give you life,
A gift that’s free and true.
The price for sin, already paid,
Your soul’s been bought with grace.
The gates of heaven opened wide,
In Christ, you find your place.
The choice is yours, the path is clear,
No works to earn this love.
Just take His hand, receive His gift,
And rise to realms above.
AMEN
